Mindful Kids Miami is happy to announce our new upcoming “Mindfulness-Based Self Expression®  Parent & Child Family Day” which is part of our new family focused programs based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction principals.

Through mindfulness and the creative process, we learn how to communicate and celebrate this precious relationship.  
You will learn and experience new ways of being together, respectfully and lovingly.
Mindfulness-Based Self Expression® offers a fun forum for parents, caregivers and children to share creativity, joyful play in the realm of childlike wonder and delight with open hearted connection.  You will be guided towards exploration, expression, communication, and playful dialogue.  This family practice combines creative arts with child-centered mindfulness.  Experience the joy of play, the creative process of coming together mindfully.

What to Bring

Please be sure to bring a yoga mat and a beach towel.  You may also want to bring socks, cushion, and a blanket.  

Please bring a bagged lunch.

Remember to wear comfortable clothing.  Please leave your phones, devices and watches at home.  If you must bring a beeper or phone, please turn the phone off and keep the beeper on vibrate.



Janet Slom
, MA, has completed the MBSR Practicum, Teachers Development Intensive (TDI)and Mind- Body Medicine Retreat through the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts Medical School. Her Background includes dance (RAD), Yoga (ERYT – 500 Hours), Interfaith Ministry (Rev.) and Spiritual Counseling. She has taught workshops in Europe, South Africa and throughout the USA. Janet is the Founder and director of Mindfulness-Based Self-Expression® (MBSE®), which is copyrighted and is currently being taught to children at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami, Florida.

Janet is Artist in Residence at the Center for Mindfulness in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts where her inaugural solo exhibition will be on view through October 2016.  Janet is also one of the teachers for Mindful Kids Miami. Janet has been meditating since childhood.
